Father’s Day - SheKnows Style

SheKnows.com (http://www.SheKnows.com), one of the fastest growing online destinations for women, announced today the results of their national poll coinciding with their Face of New Fatherhood panel. The panel features five dads with diverse backgrounds and unique perspectives on parenting opinions and hot parenting topics. The panelist participants included American Idol favorite, Bo Bice; co-founder of Invisible Children, Jason Russell; author Steve Almond; NHL player and center for the Anaheim Ducks, Todd Marchant; and founder of The Dad Network, Matt McAffee.

With an overwhelming response to the question: “At what age do you feel you should speak with your child about sex education?,” 83% of SheKnows readers responded that parents should speak to their children about sex education before age 13 — preferably at age 10 or 11. Only 17% of SheKnows readers felt that age 13 was the appropriate age for parents to speak to their children about sex education.

“It’s not like when my dad sat me down at 13 and told me about the birds and the bees. My children, even with the best parental censorship, will still be exposed to more than I was,” said Bo Bice, American Idol favorite.
